I have suffered for many years with severe IBS. I came to accept it as a part of my life.I took anti-biotics for many years, which I believe helped to destroy the good bacteria in my digestive system. This was having a debilitating effect on me and was affecting every aspect of my life, as I had to ensure I was near a toilet. This restricted my movements too.
My general well being was suffering.I was glad I found Sarah. I kept a food dairy prior to our meeting and Sarah suggested that I cut out Dairy, which I did. I cut out all milk, cheese, butter, cream and also cut out foods that contained dairy products and lactose.I use coconut milk as a substitute. Within a week my symptoms improved dramatically and have continued to improve since. I can now control when I need to go to the toilet. I have also cut out all forms of wheat and gluten, especially bread and cereals, which have further improved my IBS. This has proved to me that a few simple changes to diet is the key, as I didn’t want to resort to medication and the complications / side effects these bring.
